Common bottlenecks in healthcare & practices

For care organisations in nursing and residential care, disability care, mental healthcare and home care, and for GP, dental, physiotherapy and pharmacy practices, Kantex builds software that lightens the recording workload. We connect client records or the GP information system, diary, rosters and billing, make care data safely usable for management, and use AI for reporting and telephony, always reviewed by a care professional.

Care staff want to spend their time on clients and patients, but a good part of the day goes on reporting, coordinating and recording. In a practice, the phone comes on top of that: repeat prescriptions, rescheduled appointments, questions about a referral. The same data sits in the record, the diary and the billing system, and is often entered more than once. At the same time every solution demands care, because health data is involved.

  • Recording eats into care time

A visit or shift is followed by reporting, sometimes in several systems. What is in the record is copied again for planning or accountability.

  • Roster and care needs drift apart

Clients’ care needs change, but the roster is made in a separate package. Planners shuffle shifts by hand to get staffing, skills and travel time right.

  • Billing needs checking afterwards

Care delivered has to match care assessments and agreements with funders. Missing or inconsistent records often only come to light when billing.

Who we build for

Every branch of healthcare & practices has its own daily rhythm and its own systems. This is what we tackle first for each practice or organisation.

GP practices

The bottleneck
The practice assistant spends an hour on the phone every morning dealing with repeat prescriptions, appointments and test results. Whatever comes in through the patient portal still has to be copied into the GP information system.
What we build
Repeat prescriptions, appointment requests and questions from the patient portal land as a worklist in the GP information system. Whatever meets fixed rules is ready for authorisation; the rest goes to the assistant with the context attached.
Kantex Automation

Dental practices

The bottleneck
Periodic check-ups are scheduled and reminded manually for each patient. No-shows cost chair time and the recall list is never fully up to date.
What we build
We connect the practice software to the diary, text messages and email, so recalls are scheduled and confirmed automatically. A freed-up slot goes to the next person on the waiting list, without reception having to call.
Kantex Integrations

Physiotherapy

The bottleneck
Every treatment needs a note in the electronic record, plus an interim evaluation and a final report for the referrer. That writing happens after closing time.
What we build
A short dictated or typed note is turned into a draft in the record’s format, including a first draft of the letter to the referrer. The physiotherapist reviews and approves it.
Kantex AI

Pharmacies

The bottleneck
Prescriptions arrive electronically and on paper, suppliers use their own files and the stock in the pharmacy system lags behind what is actually on the shelves.
What we build
We bring supplier lists, shortage notices and stock together with the pharmacy system in one overview per medicine. That shows which prescriptions cannot be dispensed before the patient is at the counter.
Kantex Data

Home care

The bottleneck
Routes, care visits and reports live in three systems. A change in care needs is entered in the client record, but the planner only sees it when someone calls.
What we build
A mobile app for community nurses with the day’s route, the latest report for each client and the option to report on the go. Changes in assessment or care needs go straight to planning.
Kantex Custom Software

How Kantex helps

Less recording work for care organisations and practices: records, diary, billing and communication connected.

Kantex Integrations

API integrations

We connect the electronic client record to planning, rosters and billing, so client details, care delivered and hours are recorded once and then flow through automatically.

More about API integrations

Kantex AI

AI solutions

AI can turn a dictated or briefly typed note into a draft report, or summarise a long record for a handover. The care professional checks and edits before anything is saved.

More about AI solutions

Kantex Automation

Process automation

Checks that now happen afterwards, such as missing records or care outside the assessment, can run automatically every day. Exceptions land as a worklist with the right member of staff.

Kantex Data

Data solutions

We make care data from records, rosters and billing available in overviews for teams and management, with only the data needed for that purpose and access rights per role.

Frequently asked questions about software for healthcare & practices

Can’t find your question? Email sales@kantex.nl and we will reply within one working day.

Can Kantex connect to our GP system, patient record or practice software?

That depends on what the package opens up. Many GP, dental and physiotherapy systems offer an interface or a certified exchange, sometimes only for contracted parties. We first establish which data is available and on what terms, and then build around the package. If a vendor opens up nothing, we say so honestly and look at what is possible through exports or the patient portal.

What does it cost to automate a practice?

A first step, such as processing repeat prescriptions automatically or an integration between practice software and diary, can be working within a few weeks. The cost depends on the number of systems and on what your software vendor allows. In a free 30-minute introductory call we walk through your day and identify which part takes the most time; that is where we start.

How does Kantex handle privacy and information security in healthcare?

Health data falls under the strictest rules of the GDPR, and information security in Dutch healthcare is subject to standards such as NEN 7510. We design applications with those requirements in mind and align in advance with your organisation’s information security requirements: which data is needed, where it is stored, who can access it and how access is logged.

Can AI add reports to the client record on its own?

We advise against it. In our approach, AI produces a draft: a written-up report or a summary for a handover. The care professional reads it, edits it and saves it themselves. That way the professional remains responsible for what is in the record, and it stays visible who approved which text.

Do we need to replace our client record system to reduce the recording burden?

Usually not. Much of the gain lies in what happens around the record system: double entry in planning and billing, manual checks and separate lists. We first look at the integration options your current system offers and build around it. Replacement is a big step that we only discuss if integration is genuinely not possible.
